A true example of how waste can be processed safely. The ergonomics of this machine are amazing. The Eliet Minor harmoniously combines a wide feed-in opening (for fast processing of various types of waste), with compactness and user-friendliness. Branches that are curved or have twigs are also easily processed. And more importantly, you process the waste in an extremely safe manner. The machine is also equipped with a specially mounted protection net, a steel safety guard and a robust mud flap.
ELIET MINOR: DETAILS
Whoever owns a large garden expects that something extra from his chipper. The ELIET Minor has a lot to offer. All of its hidden talents are a listed hereafter in an overview.

Sturdy frame
Chipping is a real joy when you use a good machine. At ELIET, we do everything to ensure that you will derive this pleasure as long as possible. When you take your first look at the ELIET Minor, you will realize that this machine is designed to cope with rough handling. You certainly do not have to worry about the durability of the thick sheet steel frame, even if it is given a hard nut to crack. |
|
 | |
Wide feed
The black loading hopper guides the garden waste with wide branches into the chipper. Everything disappears behind the metal safety screen. Provided that the feed-in funnel does not become narrower, all branches continue to be fed in before being placed at the mercy of the blades. |
|
 | |
Knife drum
If you remove the sieve screen from the machine, you will be confronted by the knife drum with its twelve razor-sharp blades. The rotor with two bearing blocks is mounted in the shredding chamber. You will immediately note from the construction of this cutting device that this chipper will have no trouble at all in dealing with a lot of thick branches being fed in. |
|
 | |
Hatchet principleTM
The ELIET Minor achieves an incredible degree of efficiency thanks to the patented chipping system from ELIET. The blades use this “hatchet principle” to cut the wood in the fibre direction in order to produce chippings that have ideal composting characteristics. |
|
 | |
Safety
Children and pets often wander into the garden out of curiosity. However, the safety net keeps them far away from possible dangers. |
|
 | |
Large wheels
Large wheels are a real comfort, especially when you do not drive the chipper over hardened ground. The ELIET Minor has extremely good weight distribution so that you hardly have to lift it in the transport position. This makes it easy to drive the ELIET Minor to the bottom of the garden. |
|
 | |
Belt drive
The knife drum of the Minor has double bearings and is belt driven. This construction places the Minor in a class of its own in comparison with the smaller ELIET chippers. The separate bearings for the rotor enhance the durability of the chipper. Moreover, this construction is better equipped when it is subjected to heavy duty cycles. The transmission also absorbs the dynamic forces and increases the drive torque to be knife drum. |

“The greater the engine power, the better the shredder is”, this is a widespread misconception.
In fact, Eliet endorses a different view: We can only talk in terms of a reliable machine when an engine requires less power to achieve the same results.Eliet knows how to optimally use the power of an engine by employing its patented ‘Hatchet principle’.
How does the ELIET HATCHET PRINCIPLETM work ?
Ask yourself the question : What is the best way to make a piece of wood smaller without using too much energy ?Without thinking, you can hastily start to hack away at a wooden log lying on the ground, and after you have expended enough blood, sweat and tears, you will finish what you started.

However, if you hack at the log in the grain direction, the log will virtually split in half by itself.Just as if the wood is doing the work for you.

This is exactly how the shredders work. The blades act as thousands of miniature hatchets cleaving the trimmings in the grain direction. Given the special position of the blades, the knife drum continually goes through a cycle during which the wood is successively split and cut. The chippings are cut even more in the shredding chamber until they are small enough to fall through the sieve.

Outstanding Achievements
As the ELIET chippers use the patented Hatchet system, the operator can reap the full benefits. By cutting in the grain direction, the blades system from ELIET takes advantage of the weakness in the wood in order to cut it. The machine thus requires less power. Consequently, an ELIET chipper with much less engine power, can still process relatively thick branches.A smaller engine has a number of additional advantages :
- Lower consumption
- Lower noise emission
- More environmentally friendly
- Less prone to wear
- Cheaper
These elements also help to increase your efficiency. And this, of course, is your ultimate objective.
The Eliet shredders have a large shredding surface which extends the entire feed-in width. Most other wood chippers have a funnel-shaped feed-in opening that has a large feed-in surface, but only a small shredding surface. It is self-evident that the operating speed of the chipper depends for 50% on the ability to feed in more easily. This is yet another advantage of using an ELIET machine.
As already stated, the ELIET Hatchet principleTM enables you to choose a smaller engine. This has a beneficial effect on the construction of the machine. Consequently, this enables ELIET to design an extremely compact and ergonomic chipper. The machines therefore have several advantages in terms of weight, mobility and user comfort.
Flexibility
Thanks to the Hatchet principTM, the ELIET chippers are equipped with an extremely versatile chopping system. Many different types and shapes of garden waste can be easily processed, including:
Leafy hedge trimmings

Damp leafy garden waste

Ground cover plants

Climbing plants

Reed-like plants

Flower trimmings

Woody trimmings: fruit trees

Fir-like: (conifers, pine trees, etc.)

Leaves

Each day, gardeners are confronted with each type of the above-mentioned garden waste. His ELIET chipper will simply go ahead and chop everything into uniform, fine chippings that are nice to look at and that can be easily used as organic matter in the garden. The chippings are extremely suitable for composting thanks to the way in which they are chopped.
If they are removed and stored, they can also subsequently be used for composting, thus quickly reducing the volume of waste.
