Who We Are

Godfreys.com is the online shop for Godfreys Sevenoaks, one of the UK's leading specialist retailers of garden machinery, hand and power tools and outdoor leisure items. Based in Sevenoaks Kent, Godfreys is a long established authorised dealer for leading brands such as John Deere, Honda, Hayter, Stihl, Echo and many more. As an authorised dealer we hold a large stock inventory, offer a complete service backup, and have fully trained product professionals who can advise on the right product to meet your needs.  Established in 1934, Godfreys has a long standing reputation for quality and service.

With the launch of Godfreys.com in early 2006, we now have an established online service that delivers throughout the UK.

What We Do

We like to feel we are different from other internet shops. Many shopping sites offer you a large selection of products, but little else in terms of service and shopping experience. We have an excellent team of professionals working for us who know their products, understand customer service and are dedicated to making Godfreys.com as successful as the Sevenoaks business. 

Our approach is firstly to offer you an excellent selection of products that represent the best in their categories; brands such as Honda, John Deere, Echo, Hayter, Mountfield, Barlow Tyrie, Weber, Wolf, Bahco, Stanley, Einhell, DeWalt, Ryobi and many more. We have over 6000 products on the site and we are constantly adding new lines to broaden our ranges.

Secondly, and no less importantly, we focus on customer service. This means more than getting the basics right; we want to ensure that you are getting the right product and that you will keep coming back to us for your home and garden requirements. Our web site was upgraded in early 2007 to offer an enhanced online shopping experience, with improved browsing functionality and product selection features. Our buying guides and product comparisons have been modified to allow you to learn more about our products and to compare similar products . We have included on our website a number of articles and guides on garden design, projects and tasks around the home and garden, as well as other areas that we think may be of interest to you. These are regularly updated by our panel of expert contributors and we hope you find them of interest. 

We strive to deliver your product as quickly and cost effectively as possible, bearing in mind that many of our products are fragile. We can offer next day delivery on many items. If we are out of stock, we can obtain most of our products at short notice and will advise you immediately of estimated delivery date including the option to cancel if this does not meet your requirements. Our Partners

We have chosen our partners carefully to meet our high expectations. Our tool supplier and distributor is Toolbank, one of Europe’s leading specialist distributors of hand and power tools. Advice and articles are supplied by Creative Landscape Co and by getwoodworking.com (the web site for The Woodworker and Practical Woodworking publications) as well as other garden and home experts.

Our Sevenoaks Shop

We believe that the combination of internet shop and physical retail store gives us an advantage in being able to understand and respond to your needs. Our retail shop operates out of a prestigious 18,000 sq ft showroom on Otford Road in Sevenoaks, Kent. We have probably the largest selection of garden machinery and hand and power tools in the South East of England. Recently refurbished and extended, we have enlarged our range of tools and outdoor living items to give a broader home and garden selection.

We also have an after sales service facility at Winkhurst Farm, Sevenoaks. This 3 acre site with fully equipped workshops, spare parts area and reception allows us to test and appraise products and hold open days.

Our History

Godfreys is a long established business, originally formed in 1934 as a horticultural and agricultural machinery distributor. The ethos behind the business in those early days was “a refusal to sell the next best, if the best was not available” (as expressed by founder, Sir William Godfrey) and 70 years later we still stand by these words. Godfreys has expanded considerably during the course of its history, most recently adding an extended range of DIY tools and outdoor clothing departments. In addition to the Sevenoaks shop and online store, we also have a large commercial and turfcare machinery business www.godfreys.co.uk. Godfreys will always be known for the quality of its products and its efficient and friendly service.
